About AOD court reports

A collaborative, practical approach

My work is informed by experience across addiction, mental health and community settings, alongside postgraduate study in psychology.

Therapy can be a place to make sense of what is happening in your life and consider what you would like to change. I take time to understand your experiences, the wider circumstances affecting you and what feels most important to work on.

I work collaboratively and draw on evidence-informed approaches suited to your needs. My aim is to offer a calm, respectful space where you can speak openly, understand patterns that may be contributing to difficulties and find practical ways forward.

I've worked in addiction and mental health settings since 2020, and I am currently undertaking postgraduate training in clinical psychology at the University of Waikato.

For employers & organisations

Mental Health First Aid training for your team

I am an accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Aotearoa instructor delivering Standard and Refresher courses to workplaces and organisations.

MHFA teaches people how to recognise when another person may be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis, start a supportive conversation, provide initial assistance and encourage appropriate professional or other help.

For courts and legal professionals

Alcohol and other drug reports for the courts

I am an approved report writer on the Ministry of Justice’s AOD Report Writers Panel. I provide specialist assessments and reports to help inform sentencing decisions, including recommendations about treatment and rehabilitation where appropriate.

Reports may be ordered by a judge through the court registry or requested by legal aid and Public Defence Service lawyers. Court registry staff and lawyers can contact me to discuss availability and possible conflicts of interest. Assessments can be conducted online or in person in Hamilton where appropriate.

If you are seeking a report for your own case, your lawyer can advise you about the appropriate process. These reports are commissioned separately from individual therapy appointments.
